Architectural Photo Friday: Bondi Icebergs’ Pool

Today’s photo Friday shows you what a little imagination can create. Australia’s Bondi Icebergs’ Pool blurs the line between man-made swimming pools and the ocean. Unlike many infinity pools, the Bondi Iceberg’s pool contains salt water as the Tasman Sea crashes into it daily.

Salt water is even more harmful to concrete than unsalted water. This in addition to the erosion of the waves would require the concrete for the pool to be thoroughly waterproofed with a system that could withstand hydrostatic pressure.

The concept is breathtaking. Be sure to visit if you’re ever in Australia.
