Architectural Photo Friday: Rooftopping

10th Feb 2012 Architectural Photos by Crystal Kwon

Of all the structures that are built with concrete, there’s something awe-inspiring about skyscrapers. Their height commands attention and they have a unique way of making concrete, steel and glass look amazing. As concrete waterproofers, it’s a real treat to see these concrete jungles from a different perspective as we typically are used deep in the ground, in below grade areas.

This week, we feature not a particular building or structure, but a new trend called rooftopping. Daring photographers take vertigo-inducing photos which is the result of climbing a skyscraper, and then (gulp), leaning over the edge.

Tom Ryaboi is one of these crusaders. The 27-year-old native Canadian has climbed more than 100 buildings.

Here are a few of his shots:

As a modern-day daredevil, the photographs are proof of his climb. As Tom Ryaboi continues rooftropping, we look forward to seeing concrete looking its best.
