Crystals create a waterproof barrier within the concrete structure

Integral Systems include densifiers, water repellant and crystalline/reactive systems. Densifiers can include components such as Silica Fume, Fly Ash, slag, other pozzolans and water reducing admixtures, which can all be effective in creating a lower permeability concrete. Integral Systems may be used in any type of concrete application, including Shotcrete, Precast concrete or Cast-In-Place.

The advantage of this type of system over a surface-applied system, is the concrete ITSELF is the membrane, and cannot be damaged by scratches or punctures. Also, it requires no labor, time, access or preparation to install as the components are pre-mixed with the concrete.
